Ed Perez - Senior Technical Instructor
Ed has almost 30 years of telecommunications experience, starting as an AT&T Field Technician from 1980 to 1991. In 1991, he moved to Denver where he was a Remote Tier 2 Technician from 1991 to 2006. Ed's experience ranges from the Dimension phone system to Linux servers, which includes the System 75, 85, G2, G3i, G3r, G3csi, Definity One, IP600, S8100, S8300, S8500 & S87xx Linux servers. He also supported various voice mail systems, such as the R1 Audix, Definity Audix, Intuity Audix, IP600 Voice Mail and the IA770 Audix.
Ed has worked with technicians and customers remotely. In 1998, he worked exclusively with technicians in the Technical Support Group, where he supported technicians on installs, upgrades and trouble tickets. In 2001, Ed assumed Floor Mentor duties and assisted other technicians on the floor. He also started doing in-house training in 2003, instructing classes on the Definity product line, mainly the G3i and the G3r PBXs. He also performed training on Definity Audix, Definity One, IP600 and S8100.
As time passed Ed retired from Avaya in 2006, and then contracted directly to Avaya as an instructor on the above mentioned systems. He instructed on hardware and features, and also Linux server S8xxx series and IP telephony classes. As of the summer of 2008, Ed is a Senior Technical Instructor for Sumaria Networks, delivering training in the UCD solution area, namely Modular Messaging administration, implementation and networking.
Ed lives in Denver where he loves the outdoors and the mountains, which allow him to ski, snowshoe and hike. Ed also enjoys the changes that the four seasons bring.
