Shakeel Ruhomutally  -  Senior Technical Instructor

Shakeel’s 12 years of Telecommunications industry experience encompass training delivery on Cisco products and solutions, VoIP/ToIP and Wireless solutions, and Nortel products and solutions for WLAN, NCSS, NCTS and NCSE certifications. He has also designed and developed technical engineering documentation on optical networking (SDH, WDM and Metro Ethernet), and has performed on-site training for customers during product deployments.

In addition, while at Nortel he served as an Account Manager for four years where he held responsibility for providing technical solutions and pre-sales training for key customers. He also participated in complex projects with the Nortel Engineering team and OEM partners.

Shakeel also possesses extensive wireless experience, having served as a Team Leader for a Wireless, Wireline and Optical team of training specialists for five years. In this role, he managed ten instructors and planned resources; held responsibility for training deliveries and technical presentations for Nortel customer solutions in EMEA, NAR and APAC; and performed courseware development and lab set up to model customer networks.

Shakeel holds the Nortel Leadership Edge Program certification, as well Cisco CCSI, CCNA and CCNP certifications. He has been ranked as "Top Talent" at Nortel for seven consecutive years and as a "Nortel Leader" during his involvement with Nortel’s Leadership Edge Program.

He holds a MSc. in Communications Systems and a BSc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. Shakeel is also fluent in English, French and German.
