Ongoing Opening - Instructors
Instructors are responsible for delivering a range of courses limited to a specific solution area. Instructors teach a set of courses with low to intermediate complexity on installation, maintenance, design and/or administration to any individual, business or corporation that leases, purchases or has responsibility for a telecom equipment product and/or peripheral. Sumaria instructors demonstrate expertise in their given solution area. Positions require extensive travel, up to 90%. Training can be delivered at a training center, a business partner site, or a customer location.
Responsibilities
- Training students with varied backgrounds, experience and product knowledge in a blended learning environment, including Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Virtual Instructor Led Training (vILT).
- Researching and analyzing new products in order to provide training support.
- Occasionally providing technical support to field offices, business partners, sales forces and course development organizations.
- Performing project management functions, including installing and setting up equipment and software, delivering training, and closing out training sessions.
- Utilizing analytical skills to customize training in a role-based environment.
- Developing and conducting seminars, workshops and demonstrations to increase audience knowledge of products, services and applications.
- Creating a comfortable and effective training environment conducive to adult learning regardless of the training site and audience mix.
- Occasionally working with the course development organization to keep content current for all audiences.
- Evaluating individual performance and providing feedback and coaching to each student.
- Delivering courses with low to intermediate level of complexity using a variety of teaching methods and advanced media.
- Achieving and maintaining industry specific knowledge as applicable to delivery audience.
- Demonstrating specialist knowledge in assigned curricula areas.
- Achieving and maintaining ACACN or equivalent certification.
- Maintaining expertise through field experience as needed.
- Adapting documentation to meet the specific needs of each individual role-based audience (i.e.; client executive, design specialist, technician, customer, administrator, etc.).
- Possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular technical area and working knowledge in a range of technical areas and functions. This is required to effectively translate and transfer knowledge to students within all audiences.
- Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, understanding and utilizing adult training techniques, and possessing effective project management skills.
Basic Qualifications
- Proven instructor platform skills.
- Field experience in area of instruction.
- Good networking and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Management experience is desired.
- College education is desirable.
- Telecommunications field experience is desired.
