
DR. GUIDO MINAYA
CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER
Dr. Minaya is a member of Sumaria's Industry Expert Advisory Board and has more than 20 years of telecom industry experience with more than ten (10) years of successive training and education positions at Lucent Technologies, Avaya and Accenture Learning. In his last position, he served as the Director for Americas Delivery Management for Accenture Learning and the Global Delivery Director for the Avaya University client engagement. In addition, he oversaw where he oversaw corporate education delivery regarding Avaya University, Sun Education, GECF and Accenture.
As Global Delivery Director for Avaya University he oversaw delivery management operations in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America with global executive responsibilities over internal and outsourced instructor faculty resources and management of intellectual capital development for Avaya associates, business partners and customers through the delivery of strategic programs. He held management responsibility for 16 corporate university training centers in these four (4) regions and oversaw technical, leadership-management, sales and soft skills curricula for key Avaya audiences.
In March 2002, he moved to Singapore to launch and oversee the Asia Pacific and Japan Regions for Accenture Learning, where he managed client relationships with the region's senior leadership, conducted needs assessments, and created learning programs. Upon successful completion of this assignment, he returned to the U.S. to manage the Americas Region in May of 2003.
From October 2001 to March 2002, he managed the Caribbean and Latin American Region, where he successfully launched a blended learning program to ramp up system engineers. As Director of the Caribbean and Latin American Region for Avaya, he managed the five (5) corporate university training centers of Miami, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Bogota, where courses were delivered in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Recently, Dr. Minaya served as Vice President of Programs for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, a national non-profit firm dedi-cated to strengthening America by advancing the educational attainment of Hispanic Americans, where he oversees all scholarship and outreach programs.
Dr. Minaya holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Management from the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, Pa.; and an International Executive MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.
